Cognitive Hypnotherapy has taken new understanding of how the brain works, ideas from Nuerolinguistic programming, naturally occuring trance states and weaved them together to form a powerful approach that can provide results in a short space of time.
It is not a one size fits all therapy.
It is a collaboration between the client and the therapist.
The therapist acts as a guide to help you find the solution to your issue, using your model of the world. I will offer you an individually tailored programme, bulit on the detailed information that we will discuss in our first meeting.
What is a Trance State?
A Trance State is an altered state
of conciousness. These are everyday
occurances. Have you ever driven home
from work and wondered how you got
there? Have you ever had a conversation
with someone and realised they were
not listening to you, they were somewhere
else? These are just a couple of examples
of naturally occuring Trance
States.
This naturally occuring state is all
that is needed for the therapist and
client to work effectively together.
How does Cognitive Hypnotherapy work?
Cognitive Hypnotherapy works by using the clients own natural Trance
States to uncover thoughts and memory patterns, active in the unconcious that create and maintain the problem. Therefore it works on the basis that the client already unconciously has the solution to their problem, and can be described as a process whereby an individual is guided into a trance like state for a mutually agreed purpose. Various techniques are used to modify the problem pattern, enabling the client to conciously take control of their behaviour.
As the client you will always be in control and able to come out of trance whenever you want to. You cannot be told to do anything that you would not want to do or reveal anything about yourself unless you wanted to. You will be able to talk throughout and will find it a comfortable relaxing experience, working with your therapist to acheive the outcomes you desire.
